Under the previous net metering system, excess electricity generated and not used during the billing period accumulated on a virtual account.
With net billing, the principle remains the same.
The only difference is how this excess is recorded: with net metering, excess energy was stored as virtual kWh with net billing, excess energy is purchased by EAC (AHK) and credited in euros to your electricity account

How Net Billing Works in Practice
Net billing is based on two-month billing periods, not daily calculations.
At the end of each billing period, EAC: Compares the total electricity exported to the grid with the total electricity consumed.

If you produce more than you consume:
โ EAC purchases the excess at โฌ0.11 per kWh
โ the amount is credited in euros to your account
โ it is applied to your next electricity bill, reducing it
If you consume more than you produce:
โ you pay only the difference
